One of the most imprtant tips for sewing with linen is to be accurate and to keep the fabric from shifting under your hands. I've had one of these Clover Hot Hemmers in my sewing kit for ages. When I need precision in my pressing and turning, I keep this tool by the iron.
The fibre can take a really hot iron. Use the long side for pressing hems and seam allowances and the curved side for curved hems which need to pressed with accuracy.
The material is heat resistant and allows the steam of the iron to pass through and it's also grippy so it holds your fabric in place.
